- 2017 Northwest Chocolate Festival, Silver, Best Dark Chocolate
- 2018 Academy of Chocolate Awards, Silver
We’re proud to announce that this very special bar won Silver at the Northwest Chocolate Festival Awards!
The Q’eqchi Maya farmers of Chivite, Guatemala harvest cacao from the wild trees surrounding their village. When we first visited the village we loved their cacao, but their fermentation and drying facility badly needed updating. Working with the farmers and with Cacao Verapaz, we funded the materials necessary for village to build a brand new fermentation and drying area. They’re now able to provide incredibly high quality cacao on a consistent basis. We love this bean!

I teach a class on the science of chocolate. One thing I have learned is that chocolate preference is a matter of personal taste. But Asochivite is a very common favorite, and it is indeed my top choice of all of the hundreds of chocolates I have tried. The texture has a feel of milk chocolate, the bitterness is balanced well with the other flavors, and those green banana and mango flavors make us realize why cacao is considered a superfruit.
I first got this bar in a flight of Guatemalan chocolate bars I sampled for a novel I'm writing set partly in a Guatemalan cacao co-op. This was the hands-down favorite! Have now ordered more to share at my book signings. It's got a great snap and complex flavors.
Awesome fruit notes. Nice and smooth. Makes it veeerry difficult to go back to the Linda’s of the world...
Rich flavors that keep coming. Need to eat mindfully to fully appreciate this deliciousness
Tasty if you’re into rich Cocoa flavors
