Limited Release, Alto Beni
Available exclusively on our website! Limited Release bars are our way of sharing the incredible fine flavor cacao we receive from farmers all over the world. Although we aren’t able to visit these farms personally we’re so impressed with the quality and incredible flavors we just had to turn the beans into chocolate. As with all our bars these are made with cocoa butter we freshly press from the same beans we use to make the bars. We make only one batch of each of origin, so they’re only available for a limited time.
About the Alto Beni Beans
We first found this bean through Invalsa Coffee, which is a small family owned coffee shop and importer located very close to us in Salisbury, MA. They import these beans directly from Bolivia, in partnership with CIAAB (Agroecological Cooperative of Alto Beni). CIAAB is a cooperative of more than 500 small farmers, and the beans in this bar are from the Alto Beni municipality, which is just northeast of the capital of LaPaz.
They also have a 10 hectare parcel of land in Buena Vista, on which they’ve planted their own cacao trees. This is also where they built a modern, centralized fermentation and drying facility.
